gabions wall construction
Gabion works Used in the past to prevent erosion of river beaches... Today, it is used in exterior wall walls and landscaping and decorative work on sidewalks
In engineering, gabions are containers of stones retained with wire mesh. They are placed on site unarmed and, once in place, are filled with stones.
They are manufactured with meshes (triple twisted and squared type 8x10 cm) of steel wire (with low carbon content) of 2.7 mm, which is given three layers of galvanized, with 270 grams of zinc. The edges of the gabions are also reinforced with 3.4 mm wire. Wire for the clamping of the 2.2 mm pieces is also used.
The gabions can have different aspects, it is very common to find them in the shape of boxes, which can have lengths of 1.5, 2, 3 and 4 meters, a width of 1 meter and a height of 0.5 or 1.0 meters.
